Doggie Show
The “Doggie Fun Day “ held in Lyme Green Community Park on Sunday the 6th April this year (2025) was a first venture for us to delve into the world of canines and their human pets
, and what a venture into the unknown it turned out to be.
Thirty-three dogs and their owners turned up on the day and enjoyed a beautiful 15-degree centigrade of warm sunshine. And though there were no ‘hotdogs’ or burgers to be eaten, there were enough snacks and drinks on hand to keep us all refreshed.
The stars of the afternoon were obviously the doggies themselves who enjoyed the fun games that Janice, and her team, from the Wild Dogs of Wilmslow, and along with Pat, Diane and the other volunteers from the Windyways Animal Rescue Centre provided. It was super and impressive to see how much love care and personal pleasure they put into morphing dogs and owners into a package of ‘woofly’ fun for the afternoon. We can’t thank them enough for making our own efforts that much easier, bless you all, woof woof.
The very knowledgeable Jez Frith and his “Animal Behaviour Clinic” (07712134525) willingly gave up his time to offer free advice to those who wished to use his service. In fact, they appreciated his help and guidance so much that they donated gratuities to him, which Jez later donated to the “Windyways Animal Trust Fund.” Thank you, Jez.
Also, thank you to Tracey and Carl Kerr from “Sleepwalkies” and the other volunteers for their input.
We cannot wait for our next venture into building upon these “small event” successes. But this takes time, commitment, teamwork, and a willingness to have fun in a professional way, so volunteers are always welcomed into ensuring that the next event is another success.
Small events need people with ‘big’ hearts.
Until next time, keep smiling
